Children’s Letters to God

Last evening in the service on campus, Rand Hummel read some letters that children have written to God. Being around our grandchildren has reminded us of how guileless children are. They say what's on their minds with innocent truthfulness.

I did some searching in my files and am sharing the ones someone sent me quite a while back.

If you can't get enough of these, there's a whole book of these — Children's Letters to God.

Well, we're off and running with classes today. I'm eager to meet my new students and begin to discover why the Lord has put us all together this semester. Thanks in advance for any prayers offered in our behalf!

"The belief that praying is important in the Christian life and not doing it is dangerous." — Art Nuernberg

Children seldom misquote you. In fact, they usually repeat word for word what you shouldn't have said.

Prayer from my 2.5 year old before eating a meal she did not wish to eat:

Dear Jesus, thank you for this day, and I don’t want to eat THAT food. Amen.

I enjoyed this post. I know with me, my kids and grandkids – words that we all speak with honesty and truthfulness! I have alot of good and not so good memories of things that was said and should not of been said! I think you can testify to some of my words at least! Oh, Boy! 🙂

Miss 6 wanted to pray after Gramma’s bedtime prayer, so I said, “OK,” hoping she wouldn’t be too long-winded. She prayed, “Dear God, I agree with what Gramma said 100%, but there are a few other things you ought to know about . . . ” It was a pretty long prayer.

Welcome back to a new school year! My niece told me she has you for Freshman Seminar . . . I didn’t know you were taking on new courses. I hope that a good time will be had by all.
