Christmas Wishes

At this busy time of year, I thought my readers would enjoy a short blog post. It's three funny Christmas-related pictures.

The first two are for cat lovers (and haters).

Why I Knock Over Tree

O Christmas Tree Ornaments

We have actually been pleasantly surprised that our cat Buddy, new to the home since last Christmas, has done nothing to the tree but lie under it. He's so crazy that we really thought he'd be climbing the tree and knocking it over right away. I mean, any cat who would try going up the chimney would certainly be tempted by a tree. But so far, so good.... 🙂

I'll end with a modern child's Christmas wish.

Modern Kids Wish List

With Christmas and New Years Day both on Wednesdays (my usual day to post each week), if I post at all, it will appear out of the clear blue, when you least expect it. 🙂

Wishing you all much joy at Christmas and God's peace in what appears to be a New Year full of new challenges and blessings.

"And the angel said to them, "Fear not, for behold, I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord." Luke 2:10-11

God gives and forgives. Man gets and forgets.

Every morning when I get up, I find things that are under the tree have been rearranged and I also find ornaments on the floor! That would be our cat, Linus at work!

    Rob adds:
He would be at the top of my lists of suspects, Shelley. We also had a Linus. Cool name for a cat.

I like the rhyme in the Christmas Tree one.

Our cat (Shamgar–bonus points to anyone who knows who that was) hasn’t tried to climb the tree or anything. He likes to lie underneath it, or maybe the attraction is the tree skirt. We are, however, careful to keep the tinsel from the bottom of the tree, since it sticks to him and when he tries to get it off, he ends up eating it… which is not a pleasant thing later.

Oh, by the way, I read in a newspaper article about truth taking a beating in viral internet things that the amazon link was done by a comedian in 2011. Still funny though, and it’s quite possible some real kid somewhere did do that. =P

    Rob adds:
Thanks for your cat story, Rachel. Aren’t they fun pets?! Thanks too for the story behind the amazon link. You do have to wonder when something is so perfectly funny like that.

Wasn’t Shamgar the son of Anath the guy who killed 600 Philistines with an ox goad? Seems like a good name for a cat…

For years my one Grandpa gave all of us grandchildren the same thing – a $2.00 bill in a money card (Thomas Jefferson’s face looking through the oval window). And we were very happy with that. Now we follow in his gifting style – Christmas shopping is so easy. Our grands know what they are getting from us – they just don’t know the exact amount! No $2.00 bills now to be had. Happy Christmas and a Blessed New Year to the Loach family!
