Meanwhile in Another Part of Town…

This weekend our family was excited about the wedding of Nora and Topher. The bride was beautiful (... and Dad is not a bit prejudiced here at all...), and the wedding ceremony was warm and personal. With Nora's creativity there were lots of little touches that made it truly unique to her. It was fun to see how many people from various stages of Nora's life came to wedding, some from great distances.

Here's a picture of the couple cutting the cake:

Meanwhile, in another part of town, our son Mark and daughter-in-law Katie were in the hospital where she was in labor. We wish that Mark and Katie could have been there to enjoy the wedding, but we were also elated to go to the hospital in the evening to meet our new grandson, Ryan David Loach. Here's a picture of Mark and Ryan:

To see other pictures and to read further details about the wedding as well as the delivery and Ryan's birth stats, you can check out my wife's latest blog post called The two new men in my life. Since she's told things so well there, I'll not retell them here.

Needless to say, my heart was very full by the end of the day, praising the Lord for allowing me to enjoy these two wonderful events in such a short space of time. And I slept profoundly Saturday night!

I'll be back midweek with another blog post. I didn't want to have to wait till later in the week to share all this news.

Congratulations! x2. 🙂 Ryan has lots of hair–more than my babies, and that’s saying something.

Congratulations! Wow, that is definitely a unique day, wedding AND grandson! Was Saturday Ryan’s due date or was it a surprise?

Rob adds: His due date was this Wednesday, April 6. But we’ll take the little cutie now. 😀

Wow! What a week-end! One to remember for a lifetime, for sure!

    Congratulations to you all. Enjoy!

Rob adds: I’ve been telling my students that even if I develop Alzheimers, I think I’ll remember this one! (not necessarily something to joke about, but has that ever stopped me? 😀

I’m guessing Saturday was a day full of what you call “good stress”. Also, having big events happen on the same day could help economize family celebrations in the future.
