Peeking Out…

picture of squirrel in pumpkin

Just peeking out.... I normally post to my blog on Monday evenings and Thursday mornings, but I just noticed in my blog stats that yesterday's blog post was my 250th. Wow, one-fourth of the way to 1,000 posts! I thought that that was worth a special post. A friend whom I considered the patron saint of the blog when I began my blog reminded me the other day that I told her at first that I didn't think I would enjoy blogging and would have nothing to write about. It was one of those "never say never" moments. Thanks for your encouragement, Bet! :-D

Another thing I'd like to share is a link to Radio France Internationale. One of their bureau chiefs, Anne Toulouse, came to BJU recently as part of a study she was doing for a report about the evangelical vote. I was asked if I was willing to be interviewed since it could be done in French. Anne was very kind and did not have any kind of axe to grind. Her "reportage" seems to be quite fair - mainly just reporting what she learned from the many people she interviewed. What a concept - a journalist who simply reports and doesn't editorialize! I've read several good articles lately about the death of journalism. You can see them by clicking here and here. You can listen to report on RFI - le poids du vote évangélique - by clicking here.

I’m glad you decided to blog, I’ve enjoyed this blog very much! In her comment Miss Solomon just had to rub it in that she was right didn’t she? :-)

Would you be willing to do a post on the history of ivman.com? It might be informative to those of us who are relatively new citizens of “IVMan Nation”.

@Bet – And right you were! … that time.

@Vikki – Thanks, Vikki! It’s been fun for me too. I hope my posts have caused some laughs and some thinking.

@Dave – Glad you’re enjoying the blog. And yes, Miss Solomon did indeed have to rub it in. But in this case, I’m glad she was right. :-)

@Michael – You can find out a little bit about the history of ivman by clicking on the about tab in the blog header, but I could/should tell about how it all started back in the late 1990s and grew from there. Good idea!

Thanks for keeping ivman going strong. Melissa and I moved from BJU & Greenville to New Hampshire this fall. We’re enjoying it but miss seeing friends and faculty. Thanks for this way to stay in contact with Greenville goings-on!

@Jonathan & Melissa – Thanks for your kind remarks. I’ve heard it’s beautiful up in New Hampshire. Maybe my wife and I will see it some day. We’d love to in the fall when the leaves are so beautiful.

@Anna – Thanks! I guess it comes from cranking out two posts a week, which is over 100 a year. Thanks for checking in and especially for commenting!
