Quotations by and about Fathers

picture of dad heart

This year, for the first time, our son Mark will celebrate Father's Day as a dad. In honor of that, I'm posting some quotations by and about fathers. Some are humorous while others are thoughtful, or even provocative. They come from a large file I had of parent and grandparent quotations. If any of the quotations have incorrect attribution or you know the attribution for any that are unattributed, please let me know and I'll update the post.

My throat constricts and tears start as I think about the best Dad ever – my Dad. He had us children conned – each of us (there were 8 of us) thought we were Daddy’s favorite (and we all thought we were Mom’s favorite, too).

This will be my first Father’s Day as a dad so these sayings have extra weight for me. And, you and your new grandson make a distinguished pair.

Being a dad is one of the greatest challenges, yet also one of the most rewarding. I had a great dad, (passed away 3 years ago), the best example I could have had to help me raise my sons. I love being a dad and now a grandpa.

You’ve got some great quotes above.
