Interesting to hear things from locals. There have been other funny pix and signs that I've posted where readers have identified it as something from their hometown or seen en route to a destination. It's great to get this kind of confirmation that these things aren't just Photoshopped. @Michael - Ah, yes! Many people don't "do the math" - <b>literally!</b> Many times in stores I've done the math and seen that buying a product in a larger size is not necessarily a way to save money. You've got to look at the unit price - per ounce, etc. The bigger box may actually cost more per ounce! I've also heard the lottery called a tax on the ignorant. A totally different category, I know, but it somehow seemed to fit. :-) As for "blogging your mind," you've already thought out one of the points I'm going to elaborate on in my post - the fact that you are blogging for your current and future boss. What you put out there is totally <b>out there.</b> It's cached, archived, or whatever. Postings on personal websites have given cause for termination from jobs and for not being hired for a new job. Young people do not think about this when they post all sorts of things on social media like Facebook. Anyone who employs people in this day and age would be wise to search things like this to see what potential employees have no qualms about sharing about themselves or their work situations. You may have noticed that I am very careful in my blog posts, rarely even mentioning people's last names, unless they are famous and basically unlinkable to me and mine. :-) More to come in that blog post I'm working on, but actually in less detail than this comment.... @Carla – Thanks for that bit of information! I especially like the 'The cop hides behind this sign' and 'This sign has been hacked' ones. Just last week I was looking at one of those roadside signs wondering if exactly that ever happened! In my city of Edmonton, AB, they have a few signs like that placed by the city along major roadways. They use them to remind people to slow down during major stadium/arena events. Lately, though, there haven't been any major events, so they've posted a 'screen-saver' message: "Watch out for pedestrians." The funny thing is -- these are main drags. There are no pedestrians to watch out for. What an, um, useful reminder! Those signs are hilarious! I especially like the ‘The cop hides behind this sign’ and ‘This sign has been hacked’ ones. There really is no discount in buying more items, but that is a subtle way of getting people who aren't good at math to buy more from you. As for the upcoming post regarding starting your own blog, another question I had was about having an "electronic paper trail" out there about what you believe and think about various topics. Wouldn't it be better to just keep your ideas to yourself or at least to not write them? Do you basically have to be non-controversial in whatever you post?
